Old Retro Notes is a web based text editor that works in a similar way to Apple’s Notes application. It’s a very basic plain text editor that allows you to view and edit your notes on pre-OSX browsers (iCab recommended). It was designed primarily for use during the Mac Yak PowerPC challenge, so that I could use my old Macs to write content.
It’s easy to get started. Just choose your personalised URL (PURL) to access your notes, or click the generate button and we’ll create a random PURL for you. Make sure you bookmark this PURL, because if you forget it, there’s no way to retrieve it. Just visit the PURL anytime you want to view your notes. Anyone can view your notes using your PURL, so don’t choose anything too basic, and don’t share it with anyone (unless you want to).
If your Retro Notes are inactive for a period of 6 months, your PURL will be removed and your content will be automatically deleted.
WARNING: Do not use Retro Notes for any personal information or passwords. The security on the site is very basic, and to ensure compatibility with older browsers there is no SSL. We will not be held responsible if any data is lost or stolen.
LIMITATIONS: At this point in time, timestamps are shown in Australian Eastern Daylight Time. I will add the ability to select your timezone in a later revision.

PURL must only contain letters or numbers. No spaces or other characters. PURL is case sensitive.
